Though voting for the US Presidential Election 2024 will be held three months from now and it is too early to predict the result, it is clear that Democrat presumptive candidate Kamala Harris is surging ahead, and that too at a fast pace, pushing Republican candidate Donald Trump behind. It can be concluded by the results of six opinion polls held within 48 hours. Harris was ahead in four polls while Trump was leading in just two surveys. According to ‘Newsweek’, Kamala Harris was up by 4 percentage points in a Civiqs survey, 3 points in a Leger survey, 2 points in a YouGov survey and a point in an Ispos survey. On the other hand, Trump got a 2-point advantage in a McLaughlin poll and a 2.6-point advantage in an ActiVote poll.

The voters are happy with US President Joe Biden’s decision of pulling out of the race and endorsing his vice president. The way Democrats rallied behind Kamala Harris is showing positive signs and may pay rich dividends to the party that was in shambles over the question of leadership only a few weeks ago.
