NBC News asked more than a dozen voters why they decided to vote early as they left their polling station in Morgantown, West Virginia.
Most said they enjoy the convenience of voting early. Others told me they were so excited and ready to vote that they wanted to do it on Day One.
Scott Rosier, a Republican, said he always votes early. He said he thinks Trump’s early voting messaging will have an impact on how many Republicans will vote.
“I think his base listens to pretty much everything he says,” Rosier said. “They tend to follow him in kind of, in lockstep.”
Rosier said he thinks a lot of people are voting early in part because “Trump encouraged it” and because “the state of our economy and the state of our nation right now is so poor that folks are looking for a change.”
